“MALVA – YOU CAN DO MORE!”

More than 300 women from all over Lower Silesia participated in the conference “MALVA – YOU CAN DO MORE!”, which was held in Bolesławiec. The meeting was organized by the “Active Women” association, the Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone “INVEST-PARK”, the Marshal Office of Dolnośląskie Province, the city of Bolesławiec, and the Lower Silesian Center for Professional Development. The patronage over the conference was taken by the Ministry of Economy.

The conference organizers convinced the participants that it does not take huge money, offices and equipment to change passion into a business. What matters is talent and the willingness to face new challenges. This was what company owners and managers talked about during the discussion panel “Successful women. Inspiration, knowledge, strength”, which was chaired by President of the Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone Barbara Kaśnikowska.

“It all begins with a dream, followed by determination and unwavering work toward the goal,” Agnieszka Chmura, owner of Struga Palace, convincingly said.

“You must find courage in you and take the first step, and the rest will follow naturally,” added Anita Stasiak-Bełz, manager of Bama Europa.

“What is important is to sell your product – this is the precondition for any successful business,” said Dorota Mroczkowska, owner of the company Doti.

“I think that it is one of the tasks of special economic zones to support regional development and be involved in various social actions. There are many women in the companies functioning in the zone, and they can set an example for others to follow,” WSEZ President Barbara Kaśnikowska said.

Deputy Minister of Economy Ilona Antoniszyn-Klik awarded the Honorary Badge of Merit for the Economic Development of the Republic of Poland to women who have achieved success in business: Helena Smoleńska, President of the “Artistic Ceramics” Artisan Cooperative in Bolesławiec, and Antonina Kopała-Wdowiak, owner of the “Oleńka” restaurant.

The conference was accompanied by workshops titled “From my crotchet to fashion design”. The participants could compare their skills and ideas, exchange experiences and find motivation.

The conference was also an opportunity to appoint new Ambassadors of Women’s Activeness. Among the ambassadors was Teodor Stępa, Vice-President of the Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone “INVEST-PARK”.
