Investments for the economy

The Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone “INVEST-PARK” is planning to spend around 80 million zlotys on projects that will increase the attractiveness of its locations. Within the next few years, the zone will construct up to ten production floors available to investors. “I am confident that these facilities will attract new firms to the zone and contribute to the creation of new jobs. Our experience confirms it,” explains Ilona Antoniszyn-Klik, Deputy Minister of Economy.

Last year, the Wałbrzych zone coordinated a pilot program of building production floors for lease. Four such facilities were built: in Wałbrzych, Bolesławiec, Nowa Ruda, and Kłodzko. They decrease the entrepreneurs’ initial capital expenditure and make it possible for them to begin production more quickly. All the four halls are already being used by entrepreneurs.

“It is an important solutions for increasing the investors’ interest in smaller towns. Creating a few dozen jobs there translates into lowering the unemployment rate by several percent, and the locals do not need to commute to large cities in search of jobs. The Wałbrzych zone has demonstrated that it can use its financial resources well, and for this reason we are going to construct more production floors, in Wałbrzych, Twardogóra, Bolków, and Wądroż Wielki. We are also considering Bielawa, Nowa Ruda, and Bystrzyca Kłodzka. Moreover, the zone is planning to buy land in Ząbkowice Śląskie,” Mrs. Antoniszyn-Klik says. “The facilities will increase the attractiveness of these areas for investors and contribute to a significant decrease in unemployment. What these regions need most are new jobs,” she adds.

The Wałbrzych zone has already begun the construction of new production floors in Dzierżoniów and Września. In the former location, a facility with a floor area of 5000 m2 will be built, whereas the hall in the Września Economic Activity Zone will be twice larger.

“Thanks to Volkswagen’s investment, Września has become one of the most attractive locations in Europe. Apart from the production floor, we are also going to build other facilities, including a new road, a reservoir, and parking lots. The work is scheduled for completion next spring,” says Teodor Stępa, Deputy President of the WSEZ “INVEST-PARK”.

The Wałbrzych facility is intended for a large, innovative company. Negotiations with the potential tenants are being held.

“We would like to attract a truly innovative investor so that highly qualified specialists could find jobs,” emphasizes Mrs. Antoniszyn-Klik.

“I think that we will soon officially announce the arrival of a new investor in Wałbrzych. The company is willing to create at least 40 jobs, mostly for engineers,” says Tomasz Jakacki, Deputy President of the WSEZ “INVEST-PARK”.

New production floors will also be constructed along the planned expressways and motorways, in Bolków and Wądroż Wielki. Another facility will be built in Twardogóra, to be used by ILPEA, a company whose plant has partially burnt down in a recent fire.

“We have to use aid instruments so that the company could continue production. The company employed around 600 people, and these specialists cannot lose their jobs,” explains Mrs. Antoniszyn-Klik.

Wałbrzyska strefa pokazała, że dobrze gospodaruje środkami, dlatego planujemy budowę kolejnych hal, między innymi w Wałbrzychu, Twardogórze, Bolkowie i Wądrożu Wielkim – tłumaczy wiceminister gospodarki Ilona Antoniszyn-Klik
